In the first version of our Shopify agent, a merchant could describe a change to their storefront and get a draft back. Now we’re working on having the agent spot something worth doing and prepare it for the merchant to review.

I build the interface and the systems the agent uses to do the work. I spend some of that time trying new models and tools. I also work on how the agent keeps track of what a merchant has already decided. The merchant needs to be able to see what the agent is proposing for their store before they use it.

My co-founder Simeon wrote about where we’re taking Fudge. This site is where I write about what I’m learning as an engineer.

How we got here

This is the fourth version of Fudge. We started with developer observability, then worked on site speed and product recommendations.
